Since the sender still functions great I guess I can always reuse it with a new sock and retain the 5/16 setup. My question is-is there a 5/16 sending unit available with a return or am I looking at getting a 3/8 unit, 3/8 lines and a new 3/8 inlet stock pump? I only have about 100 miles on the new engine so I'm hoping I don't need to toss the pump already, especially having everything recently restored to factory appearance. The underside including the tank and fuel lines still have the original undercoating on it as well as the crimp clamps so I seriously doubt it was ever changed since day 1. 32") with 1/4 return I cant seem to find a sending unit with that same setup, only 3/8 with 1/4. I would like to eventually replace the original tank and lines at some point, but knowing I have 5/16 fuel line (measured. Never touched anything with the fuel system basically from the pump back to the tank, nor did I have any issues with it. Had the 68 Charger R/T numbers matching 440/727 since '87 with 77k miles at that time. Rough Slow-Speed Cruising: Highway cruising might be fine, but struggles at slower speeds could mean you need to replace your fuel filter. So here's one that doesn't seem to be the norm when it comes to fuel systems of the day.It seems like every manufacturer has its own method to attaching the fuel lines to the fuel. Occasionally, the fuel pump might stop working, which necessitates replacing the pump to get the vehicle up and running again. Excessive Vibration While Driving: If you feel the engine idling roughly or lurching forward, that can be a sign of a clogged fuel filter. The fuel pump on a vehicle is what pulls gasoline from the fuel tank and sends it off to the engine.Pay special attention if you stall while idling at a red light or stop sign. (Got that?) If the fuel filter isn’t doing its job, fuel can’t get to the engine in sufficient enough quantities to give you the performance you expect. The fuel filter holds an important place in your car’s engine: The fuel filter filters the fuel that the fuel pump pumps.
